John McLean

Photo by Craig MacLean and not to be reproduced without permission.

This cairn stands in tribute to John MacLean, the 19th century socialist and prominent labour activist during the Red Clydeside era of political radicalism in Scotland.

The cairn is granite with a rough hewn exterior and has the shape of a wooden barrel except for a smooth square area with a dedication to Maclean.

The cairn is right next to the Toonhouse and part of the Pollokshaws Heritage Trail. Pollokshaws is on the South side of the Glasgow.
